Description

MOSAIC MQ6-162  LEE MORGAN  The Complete Blue Note Fifties Sessions

A long-deleted 6LP box set, covering all the quartet/quintet and sextet recordings this highly ratred trumpet player made for Blue Note 1956-58. Morgan, as usual was joined by some high-flying sidemen but these early sides are also notable for the inclusion of players who didn't get many opportunities such as the two obscure Philadelphia-based alto sax players, Clarence Sharpe and Kenny Rodgers. This has the usual luxury booklet with high-definition photographs, full track listings and discographical details. There are two previously unissued performance.(More information on request.)

DESCRIPTION/CONDITION : The discs are E+ to N- (VG++toM-), 'as new' apart from a few very light superficial marks, visible under a bright 'grading' light. The box is E+toN- (VG++toM-), 'as new', apart from very minor surface scratching/rubbing/creasing.  At the back, in the top right hand corner, there is a small red sticky label with a shop (collector's?) reference number written on it in black ink.
