MOSAIC MR10-141 ART BLAKEY'S JAZZ MESSENGERS The Complete Blue Note Recordings 1960
A long-deleted 10LP box set, covering all of the material recorded by this famous label by this popular combo during 1960/61. At this time, Blakey (d) led a group consisting of Lee Morgan (tp), Wayne Shorter (ts), Bobby Timmons (p) and Jymie Merritt (b). This has the usual luxury booklet with high-definition photographs, full track listings and discographical details. There are also two previously unissued performances. (More information on request.)
DESCRIPTION/CONDITION : The discs are E+ to N- (VG++toM-), 'as new' apart from some very light scuffs/superficial marks, visible under a bright 'grading' light. The box is EtoE+ (VG+toVG++), with some very minor edge rubbing/surface scratching/rubbing. It would be E+ but it has a 5cm split in the middle of the left hand seam of the back section of the box.
