MOSAIC MR5-117 BUDDY DE FRANCO The Complete Verve Quartet/Quintet Recordings With Sonny Clark
A long-deleted 5LP box set, covering all the quartet/quintet recordings that this bop clarinet player made for Norman Granz 1954-55. His group of the time was notable for the inclusion of the young pianist, Sonny Clark, and Tal Farlow's guitar is included on the quintet sides. This has the usual luxury booklet with high-definition photographs, full track listings and discographical details. There is one previously unissued performance.(More information on request.)
DESCRIPTION/CONDITION : The discs are E+ to N- (VG++toM-), 'as new' apart from a few very light superficial marks, visible under a bright 'grading' light. The box is E (VG+), with some scratching and surface/edge rubbing on the front. There is a 8cm two split in the middle of the bottom seam of the back half of the box. At the back, in the top right hand corner, there is a small red sticky label with a shop (collector's?) reference number written on it in black ink.
