The Holy Grail of Zappa Promos:

Dedicated Mono Mix in Pristine, Unplayed Archival State

Few records in the entire 1960s American rock canon carry the mythos, sonic distinctiveness, and historical significance of the original 1968 Mono mix of We're Only In It for the Money. Unlike the standard fold-downs of the era, Frank Zappa personally prepared and sculpted a true, dedicated mono master ... boasting distinct edits, unique vocal balances, completely different phasing, and an uncompromised low-end punch that vanished on subsequent stereo reissues.

• The Provenance: Sourced directly from the music review archives of the New York Post, sent by Verve upon release in early 1968 for press evaluation, and shelved unplayed.

• The Promo Distinction: Authentic Verve yellow label carrying the bold "Disc Jockey Record – NOT FOR SALE" designation and the dedicated mono catalog number V-5045.

• Archival Preservation: The vinyl has literally never touched a turntable platter. The dead wax is razor clean, the center spindle hole is untouched without a single trail mark, and the vinyl surface exhibits complete, mirror-like factory gloss.

• The Jacket: The iconic parody gatefold cover remains tight and vibrant. Aside from light, honest feather-rubbing along the perimeter seams consistent with five decades of gentle archival shelving, the construction is solid, crisp, and fully intact.

If you are an uncompromising Zappa archivist seeking the definitive copy of this 20th-century avant-rock masterpiece, you will not find a better-preserved example.
