Motorhead have been carried by the legacy of its late founding member Lemmy in recent years, with the frontman's passing sparking up new motives for a reissues campaign. Among these comes a new run of 1916, their ninth studio album, the title track for which was geared towards remembering the horrors of World War I. Giant walls of solos and hugely layered guitars make for a grim, gruesome and uncompromising vision in bluesy shreddage. It was this approach that netted the band a Grammy for this album.
