Description
1973 CBS 69038 'Mott' stickered die-cut gatefold sleeve with the plastic flap. First pressing with A1 and B1 matrices.
The sleeve is solid with some age-related wear and a number sticker and small glue residue on the back. The inner bag sleeve with lyrics printed on both sides is intact with no seam splits but has creasing and foxing.
At 120g the vinyl itself is flat and shiny with clean orange labels showing evidence of a handful of plays. Angling the disc in the light I see some hairlines and scuffs so for condition I rate it 6 /10 and the same for the inner sleeve with 7 /10 for the gatefold.
Island ILPS 9144 'Wildlife', a late 1970's or early 1980's blue label reissue of the 1971 original. Has A1 and B1 matrices so was pressed from the original master it seems.
The gatefold sleeve is strong with some minor edge creasing and corner rubs. Showing the Island catalogue on both sides, the card inner sleeve has some 'knifing' on the side seams.
124g for the flat and shiny vinyl with clean labels showing signs of hardly any play at all, if any. I've placed the record in a separate paper sleeve as these card inners don't do vinyl any favours as witnessed by some light storage scuff blemishes seen in the light so 8/10 condition for the disc and same for the gatefold and inner sleeves.
