SOPHOMORE RELEASE from this much valued outfit and a record that displays encouraging growth on a number of levels. Opens with 'Thunderbuck Ram' a heavy dirge contributed and sung by guitarist Mick Ralphs seducing us into thinking that the band have turned into Black Sabbath wannabees. Thankfully the two following tracks bring us back shaply into focuss with Ian Hunter's unmistakable voice leading the charge. The gospel tinged 'No Wheels To Ride and 'You Are One Of Us', take on a new form under the encouragement of producer Guy Stevens whilst hard rocker and in-concert favourite 'Walking With A Mountain' prooves beyond any reasonable doubt that Mott were quite capable of simplifying their approach keeping the masses smiling whilst left bank interlectuals debated the more surrealist moves the band were to offer.
Side two offers three long tracks of brilliant introspection commencing with the lanquid but hugely emotive 'I Can Feel' (containing one of 'unter's best vocals), the pulsating and ragety Traffic like 'Threads Of Iron' and finally, 'When My Minds Gone', a beautiful ballard with soft croaky vocals and a glorious piano accompaniament.

Vinyl: Nice condition - used but not abused. Displays spindle marks, other light signs of use and some hairline surface scuffs mainly from sliding in and out of the inner sleeve. Audio playback is at least Ex. Visually grades as a strong Vg+
Cover: Again, some signs of use. Issued in a beautifully illustrated gatefold cover. Sharp corners (slightly rubbed), one barely noticeable ding, no bends, faint ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Spine is square and straight. Displays light storage and handling wear. Grades as Ex

I very rarely list records that are in any way scratched- they go in the trash- and I will only list a scratched record if scarcity dictates otherwise but with full disclosure. Often vinyl display 'scuffs' which are surface marks (mostly caused by sliding in and out of the inner sleeve or careless handling) but NOT scratches and they do not have any effect on playback. If the vinyl has a scuff I will try and mention it. Even my Vg+ records are way better than most gradings on ebay- check my feedback for vindication.Gradings are cover/vinyl. All records are sold as-is that means no refunds or returns except in very rare circumstances. I am not a lending libary so don't ask for a refund (I've been burn't in the past with people buying records, taping or CD-Ring and then returning them and I've also had scratched records returned in place of clean albums).
