Description

MOVEMENT “Tell Her” RARE Aussie ASTOR 7”, Irish freakbeat R&B rave-up NEAR MINT

The Movement – Tell Her 7” (orig. Australia Astor MONO AP-1460)

Australian Release date: March 1968 (UK Release date: 12 January 1968).  Recording year: 1967.

On offer here is an EXTREMELY RARE original Australian issue of the debut 7” single by Dublin band THE MOVEMENT.  “Tell Her” is a raucous cover of “Tell Him” with slightly altered lyrics; a song that was originally recorded by BILLIE DAVIS in 1963.  Musically, we’re talking heavy freakbeat with a fuzzy guitar sound that threatens to blow your speakers out!  The flipside is a cool cover version of Atlantic Records soul artist CHRIS KENNER, although without the bite of the top side.

THIS IS WHAT SEPARATES THE CONTENDERS FROM THE PRETENDERS IN THE MUSIC SWEEPSTAKES.  Be sure to check out the YouTube link below!
