'Victims Of The Night'

UNO, USA, 1986

YOU CAN say what you will about the private press scene as most of the finds are really quite horrendous, amateur glam rock or whatever, but there are a handful of really good ones that seem to combine great hard rock guitar with a sense of melody and song.

 

In this isntance, the cover art is perfectly representative of the music and the year is spot on. Private pressing heavy melodic rock with a raw but smooth production that conjures up comparisons to such 80s hard rock maestros as Ratt, White Lion and Dokken.

Looks like they came from Madison, Wisconsin and were quite active on the scene at the time but somehow they fell between the cracks and never managed to secure a major label deal. This privately pressed five track mini album was pressed in tiny numbers and rarelly turns up.
