These are the actual life-sized masks (faces) created for Mr. Mister's first Album Artwork seen below.
“I Wear The Face” was Mr. Mister’s 1984 Debut Album. With the album title in mind, Don Wardell commissioned his friend Rick Morton to create masks of each of the four band members’ faces. (see album credits) With painstaking detail, this was done. The completed masks were so life-like it was difficult to distinguish between the masks and the band members’ actual faces. The masks were then washed out in Purple, Yellow, Green and Red and used for the Album Artwork for “I Wear The Face.” You are bidding on the actual masks created by Rick Morton (now deceased). These are the actual "faces" pictured on the 1984 album cover. Although they were ultimately colorized for the album, the masks you are bidding on are painted with extremely life-like flesh tones. They are incredibly realistic… right down to the eyes, lips and noses. These were the only 4 masks made, one for each band member, so they are each true one-of-a-kind items. This is your chance to own a very important piece of Mr. Mister history.
NOTE: THESE ARE THE ACTUAL MASKS PHOTOGRAPHED AND SEEN ON THE ALBUM COVER ARTWORK FOR "I WEAR THE FACE". THEY ARE NOT COPIES, REPRODUCTIONS OR REPLICAS. THEY ARE TRUE ONE-OF-A-KIND PIECES OF SCULPTURE CREATED FOR THE ALBUM ARTWORK. THEY HAVE BEEN PART OF DON WARDELL'S MUSIC COLLECTION FOR 20 YEARS. YOU CAN READ MORE ABOUT DON AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS ITEM DESCRIPTION. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS BE SURE TO EMAIL ME.

If you are a Richard Page fan then you already know:
Yes!... his nose really is crooked. (SEE PHOTO BELOW)
Of all the items I have put up for auction for Don Wardell (see more about Don below), these "faces"
are by far the freakiest! I had them sitting on my dining room table and it was as if their eyes were following me.
They are so life like! I had to cover them with a towel because they were giving me the heebie-jeebies.
We are also including the 1984 "I Wear The Face" album in excellent condition.
The cover has a dog-ear crease in the upper left corner and is in good condition.
See Actual Album Cover Below!

Don shows off just a small sampling of his incredible collection.
Don Wardell is a Grammy® Award winning record producer who is retiring after 30 years with British Decca, London Records and RCA Victor. He was responsible for the digital restoration of the Elvis Presley Catalog for RCA and worked on countless other projects. Last year he was named "Man of the Year" by Palm Springs Pride for his accomplishments in music and his tireless work as the Health Educator for the Desert AIDS Project assisting those infected with HIV. Don currently hosts a weekday music program on KWXY AM/FM in Palm Springs. He worked closely with Colonel Tom Parker at RCA for over 20 years. During those years he amassed what is quite possibly the largest collection of Elvis Presley Gold and Platinum RIAA® Certified records outside of Graceland. Don's retirement plans now include parting with this priceless collection. "I have reached an age where I need to keep things simple and frankly I would like the money to travel and see places from my childhood in Europe again," says Don. This presents an incredible opportunity for others to own a piece of recording history.

It was recently brought to our attention that these may be the actual masks that were used, not only in on the Album Cover, but were most likely the ones also seen in the Mr. Mister Music Video "I Wear The Face." We know for certain, as indicated above, these masks were the only masks produced for and used for the Album Artwork. We can not be certain that these are the masks featured in the Music Video only because Don hasn't seen that Video for more than a Decade and can not remember for certain... and I have never seen it. Don says if there are masks featured in that video... then most likely these are those masks. But again... he can not be certain because he has not seen the video. If you have access to the video, please look at the masks closely and compare them to the masks being offered in this auction, then bid accordingly. Thank you and if you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to email me.
Sincerely,
Joe Westerberg
