Mud Hutters / Rire: To Laugh / Vision On / Dislocation Dance -- Four Ways Out LP
Original 1980 UK release on Defensive Records (UK) (catalog # pact 1), with insert.
The sleeve is in EX- condition (small price sticker damage) and the record is in near mint condition.
A classic UK DIY LP, and exceedingly rare. Inscrutable, dysfunctional post-punk/minimal-synth inchoate art-addled genius. A Must - Have for all minimal electronic freaks!
Mud Hutters and Dislocation Dance are well-known to followers of hyped2death's Messthetics series, they were part of the Manchester Musicians Collective, and toured the UK on the "I Like Shopping" tour with Diagram Brothers, Decorators, Ludus, and Eric Random. Mud Hutters later formed into Spaceheads along with Andy Diagram.
The sleeper on here, the wildcard, is Rire: To Laugh, with two amazing tracks produced by Simon Topping of A Certain Ratio. Dark and claustrophobic post-punk with a bit of an early Crispy Ambulance feel... but dis-tempered with a large leftfield dose of Mud Hutter brand shambolic retrograde.
