Description

MUDDY WATERS - "Electric Mud". (cadet concept lps314; stereo; 1968). Great ground breaking electric blues psych LP. This LP was featured on the PBS TV show 'The Blues' which focused on a reunion of the original players with the addition of Public Enemy's Chuck D. During the show Chuck D attributes this LP with his inspiration for Hip-Hop. Marshall Chess talks about his desire to 'psychedelicize' the blues with this LP. The hot session players: Muddy Waters, Phil Upchurch, Roland Faulkner, Pete Cosey, Gene Barge, Charles Stepney, Louis Satterfield, Morris Jennings. Breaks and samples throughout. Lots of fuzz wah guitar, some electronic trickery with backwards tapes, all laid over a very funky heavy groove. A 'must-have' LP. Cuts: "I just want to make love to you, Hoochie coochie man, Let's spend the night together, She's all right, I'm a man, Herbert harper's free press, Tom cat, Same thing". This is the black cover version. Comes with the 8-page insert booklet with lots of pics of Muddy. The vinyl is an early pressing with the deep groove in the label. **Vinyl is Mint minus.
