VANISHING POINT

25 years in, Vanishing Point decisively affirms that, even in an age where only the newest of the new can survive (and even then, only for a few weeks at best), Mudhoney still have plenty to say and more to offer. These are songs written from the rare vantage point of a band who went through the rock ‘n’ roll meat-grinder and not only lived to tell such a tale, they came out full of the wisdom and dark humor such a journey provides. Vanishing Point is filled with dread, psychoanalysis and Nuggets-on-fire riffs; the sort of real, uninhibited rock music that is harder and harder to locate these days. With Vanishing Point, Mudhoney make it easy.

EVERY GOOD BOY DESERVES FUDGE

1991 will forever be remembered as the year that alternative rock broke through to the masses. It seemed like every other week there was another great new alt-rock album to discover, such as Nirvana's Nevermind, Soundgarden's Badmotorfinger, Primus' Sailing The Seas of Cheese, and the Smashing Pumpkins' Gish, so Mudhoney couldn't have picked a better time to issue their sophomore release. Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge was issued right in the middle of the whole grunge movement, and while it didn't sell in the vast quantities of some other Seattle bands' albums, it did stir up quite a buzz for Mudhoney. Some of the band's finest moments are included here, such as “Generation Genocide,” “Let it Slide,” “Into the Drink,” “Who You Drivin' Now?” and “Fuzzgun '91.”

MUDHONEY

With only several singles to their credit (including their classic “Touch Me I'm Sick”), Mudhoney set out to record their first full-length album in 1989 for the Sub Pop label. With the late-'80s rock scene focusing on glam and thrash metal, Mudhoney and their ilk (Nirvana, Soundgarden, Screaming Trees, and the Melvins, etc.) were a refreshing break from the norm. Mudhoney remains one of the band's finest albums, offering an abundance of stripped down, brash three chord rockers. For a taste of Seattle rock before it became copied and homogenized by the mid-'90s, just check out such cuts as “This Gift,” “Flat Out Fucked,” “You Got It” and the suicide tale “By Her Own Hand.” Pressed on colored vinyl and comes with foldout poster of the band in boxers covered in mud.

SUPERFUZZ BIGMUFF

2009 reissue of the classic 1988 EP, available on vinyl for the first time in years and remastered from original tapes. Superfuzz Bigmuff compiles the band's rare early singles in one convenient package. Six essential tracks here, and they all rock mightily. If you're old enough you'll want to say that you were there, if you know what you're talking about, folks might believe you. Do yourself a favor and familiarize yourself with the rock & roll revival that was Mudhoney. PLEASE NOTE! This is a vinyl reissue of the original Superfuzz Bigmuff 6-song record and, as such, is comprised of these six songs: “Need,” “Chain That Door,” “Mudride,” “No One Has,” “If I Think,” and “In ‘n’ Out of Grace.” Includes poster.
