MUNCHINGER / STUTTGART CHAMBER ORCHESTRA / VIVALDI - " THE FOUR SEASONS ", The Decca Recording Company Ltd. (SXL 2019) Stereo, 1959.
Very rare English, Stereo 1st pressing LP with original grooved Decca wideband label with the all important "Original Recording By" label text and front laminated sleeve - see photo.
English issue and pressing.
Professionally cleaned on my Moth record cleaning machine.
CONDITION:
VINYL = V.G. (No deep scratches, no groove damage, no distortion, etc. Under a bright grading lamp I can make out some slight surface marks and a few other faint scuffs just visible on the vinyl's surface - although none of these correspond directly to any audible defects. There are also heavy spindle trails on both sides of the label and a slight edge warp - on my turntable, this edge warp causes the stylus to bounce around vigourously on it's cantilever for the first 20-25% of the record although it never skips. Of course I cannot guarantee wether or not this LP will skip on the winner's turntable or not... please take this into consideration when placing bids and if you know you turntable is particularly suceptable to skipping, you might want to avoid this particular copy completely.
Generally it plays pretty well, but there is some very faint occasional surface noise audible during the run-in, between tracks and during the first few seconds of the quiet intro of a couple of tracks. As the record played, I did hear the odd faint click or crackle in the background from time to time, but generally once the music kicks in that's all you can hear.
Overall, although it is not quite perfect and I realise this will affect the value, it is by no means ruined by these minor imperfections and would still make a good honest copy for someone to play and enjoy at a reasonable price.
Note: for the purposes of this listing I have tested this LP on my Linn LP12 Sondek turntable - generally this is quite a critical test, but I must point out that I cannot guarantee exactly how this LP will sound on your turntable - common sense for most... but then this is ebay!!!)
SLEEVE = V.G. (No rips, tears, monster creases, defacing, etc. Not ruined by any means, but does suffer quite a bit of light creasing and general wear, particularly around the edges. Also the back is pretty grubby - see photos for further clarification)
