Artist: MUNDELL LOWE QUARTET
Title: “The Mundell Lowe Quartet”
Label: RIVERSIDE. Monaural pressing on medium thick vinyl. Label is “small” blue with silver text, with deep groove. Catalog number is RLP 12-204.
Year: session dates: Aug and Oct 1955.
Personnel: Mundell Lowe – guitar; Dick Hyman – piano and organ; Trigger Alpert – bass; Ed Shaughnessy – drums.
Note: This album comes from an extremely well cared-for jazz collection where the original owner cherished his albums, played them once or twice at most, and stored them under optimal conditions. These will be some excellent opportunities for the discriminating collector who insists on top condition.
Condition:
DISC: Vinyl is gorgeous NEAR MINT, has been played a very small number of times, most likely once or twice, and handled with care. Plays flawlessly with superb fidelity. Labels are clean and pristine.
JACKET: Jacket (laminated) is nice VG++. Front and reverse panels are clean and bright. Spine shows some minor wear spots, and top seam has small split (2 in.) at top center. No writing, stickers, cutout indications, or other flaws. Address on reverse is “235 West 46th Street, New York 36, N. Y.” You will be hard pressed to find a nicer copy of this scarce LP.
