Description
Very rare private press on Cheop’s Pyramid. The spoken recitation on the tracks is by Muntugotho with backing on guitar by Wilbert Johnson. Produced by Robert Harris, president of The African Repertory Theater. Vinyl grades VG+/VG-. On the 2nd side there are a few small indentions that look like small holes which appear to be from the pressing of the record. These cause some pops during playback and may cause the needle stick. I have played the record through these segments with two different needles and it has played through fine on one needle and got stuck with the other. Check out the 2nd sound clip to hear one of these segments. This records comes in a plain white jacket with paste-on slicks. On one side is a letter-sized piece of Xeroxed or mimeographed paper with the album’s title and an image of Marcus Garvey which was glued to the jacket. There is an old price tag next this cover paper. Light wear to corners. Bottom seam is split about two inches from the jacket’s opening. Jacket grades VG. The paper cover image was glued on upside down in relation to the jacket’s opening. Also included is another letter-sized piece of Xeroxed or mimeographed paper which gives information on the release and the African Repertory Theater.
*All records are original pressings unless otherwise noted.*
