This is a very rare (the ONLY copy I have ever seen in 26 years !!!) and one of the better in my opinion UK PUNK / POWER POP / MOD / MINIMAL SYNTH / NEW SWAVE OF BRITISH HEAVY METAL compilation entitled "MUSIC BIZ SHOWCASE 1983" from... 1983 on SHOWCASE RECORDS label, this is the ORIGINAL pressing and the first time I have seen this compilation for sale on Ebay. AN ORIGINAL, AND A MUST !!!.
This label was only a DEMO type label where bands payed to be included on a compilation album which will then be given to RADIO STATION, and the press, this was cheaper then releasing your own privately released single at the time, but this album features many bands that never got to release any other products apart from the tracks on this compilation, and hence the only chance to get them will be this compilation, and believe me some of them are better then many of the single releases, or many other released singles, THESE TRACKS SHOULD BE COMPED on the KBD / POWERPEARLS or SYNTH MINIMAL / NWOBHM compilations. This looks to have been the only release on this DEMO LABEL, and I think only a couple of hundred copies would only be pressed, this copy came from the person behind the label (hence his name and the label name in the left hand corner), some of the tracks were also recorded live at a SHOWCASE RECORDS gig (once again, this is cheaper then recording in a studio).

CAINERS - BALLOONS. - INDIE POP / TWEE sound like HAIRCUT 100.
FOOTBALL RESULTS - PROPHET OF HATE. - NEW WAVE SOUND.
LIFE - TOUCH THE SKY. - One of the best SYNTH MINIMAL tracks I have heard on par with TRANSPARENT ILLUSION !!!
BRAVURA - VEGETARIANS DON'T EAT MEAT. - POWER POP sound.
STOLEN PROPERTY - IMAGINATION - GREAT NWOBHM / NEW WAVE OF BRITISH HEAVY METAL sound, loud guitars, long guitar solos, and screaming vocals !!!

SIDE TWO:

ACADEMY - CUT A DASH. - another GREAT MINIMAL SYNTH track, collectors would love !!!
QUIET ZONE - FRAGILE LIVES. - DIY PUNK sound.
ECLIPSE - AN OBSCURE LOVE SONG. - Good POWER POP sound.
JEDDAH - ELEANOR RIGBY. - GREAT NEW WAVE OF BRITISH HEAVY METAL, this was released later on, but I think this is a demo version.


The compilation came out on the private SHOWCASE RECORDS catalogue number SHOWC 1, a rare find and an ORIGINAL pressing !!!

The condition of the VINYL is NEAR MINT (played once !!!), PICTURE SLEEVE is VG+ (small sticker tear in the left hand corner, and the name of the label owner written in the same corner).
