The more important thing of the seventies music it's a sincere and spontaneous musical composition approach, there are no more commercial interests that push a band to produce a certain type of music with certain lirycs because a better selling, now anyone do what he prefere but the true problem it's to find a label that may produce a record with a very limited market. What it's expecially evident in the folk records of the seventies are these small labels that normally produce a couple of hundreds of copies and sometime some dozens of copies for a local market of music lovers. Westwood label it's one of these label but it's maybe the more important one along with the Folk Heritage label that manifactured her productions and pressed some very important and beutiful folk albums too. Music Box it's probably the rarest lp on the Westwood label along with Peregrine, Deep Timbre, Friends Of Mine, Saga but in my opinion this is also the better one so he normally do not turn around so often because pressed probably in 250 copies as the others ones but because his music quality many copies are in the collections now and so it his very difficul to get a beautiful copy like this. Musical structure it's very refined melodic folk progressive with all self composed songs plus one magnificent version of Bob Dylan song: "Tom Thumb Blues" and just one traditional beautifully arranged. Basically the musical structure it's acoustic strings dominated, but apart the originality of compositions really of great quality level, the maximum of the musical seduction it's because the beautifuls Glockenspiel, Organ, Recorder played by Pip (who know her surname!) and so any track it's a real surprize, all the times beautiful and intenses acoustic armonies, gentles and sometimes entusiasthic textures, and your can feel something of intense where is your heart. Pip find also some spare time do make vocal duels with the superbs twelwe strings drivings as in "The Happy King", sound it's full, clear, emotive, fascinating. Dominate the sound with a majestic organ or enchant with the magic recorder seductives influences. Male vocal and musicians are superbs. There are not many examples like this in the UK private folk lp, sincerelly many are a bit boring and someone can be deluded but not this one. This is an excellent melodic folk progressive effort also if acoustic so take it in your prog folk collection with confidence, this can be an UNIQUE opportunity believe me. Beautiful original copy in EX/EX condition without any problem on the sleeve and on the vinyl, played in full and with much pleasure during this review.
