'Sunny Sundae Smile' is one of the rarest My Bloody Valentine records and the last release to feature the original vocalist Dave Conway. Kevin Shield's signature guitar sound and vocal harmonies have been brought to the fore here and the overall sound is a stunning marriage of adrenalin and lo-fi indie pop. Just on the horizon is the famous late 80s 'shoegaze' sound and you can hear it in the wash of guitars.
Released on Lazy Records in an edition of 2000, 'Sunny Sundae Smile' is RARE and not often found on Ebay. I will endeavour to describe the condition of the record below. This record will be packed in a strong mailer with stiffeners, with the 12" placed outside the sleeve in a PVC wallet.
CONDITION OF SLEEVE: EXCELLENT++. The sleeve is in STUNNING condition, with no wear, tear, creasing or rubbing of any description. The spine is strong and completely legible, with no sign of wear. All the corners are perfect. For all intents and purposes the sleeve resembles a NEW record!
CONDITION OF VINYL: Visual: VERY GOOD. Playback: EXCELLENT. I have listened back to the whole record intently and was blown away by the sound quality. Apart from the usual crackle in the run in groove (where there is no music) there is NO surface noise or decrease in sound quality. As this is a 12" at 45 rpm the sound reproduction is awesome! The bass is thick and all other frequencies are crystal clear. Visually the record looks like it has been played. SIDE A has some ring wear about a third of the way down which DOES NOT SOUND. There is also some surface scuffing (usually the result of being taken out of the paper inner) which is found in several areas. Again, none of these imperfections have ANY affect on the sound production. SIDE B has ringwear but again this has NO affect on the sound production. There are a couple of surface scuffs on SIDE B but again, there is NO affect on the sound production. I have scanned the labels for you to look at. This is a great copy of this RARE 12"!!
