My Life in the Bush of Ghosts is the first collaborative studio album by Brian Eno and David Byrne, released in February 1981. It was Byrne's first album without his band Talking Heads. The album integrates sampled vocals and found sound, African and Middle Eastern rhythms, and electronic music techniques. It was recorded before Eno and Byrne's work on Talking Heads' 1980 album Remain in Light, but problems clearing samples delayed its release by several months. Eno and Byrne first worked together on More Songs About Buildings and Food, the 1978 album by Byrne's band Talking Heads. My Life in the Bush of Ghosts was primarily recorded during a break between the Talking Heads albums Fear of Music (1979) and Remain in Light (1980), both produced by Eno. In later years, My Life has come to be regarded as a highly influential album, particularly in its use and treatment of sampled source material.
THIS COPY is a 1st Los Angeles pressing on the Sire label (see Notes, below).
The vinyl has some light marks, but per a test listen, nothing that affects playback. The vinyl is in Very Good Plus [VG+] condition.
The original cover has the ghost of ring wear (appropriatedly :-), but otherwise is in Very Good Plus [VG+] or better condition.
The original inner sleeve is simple poly with square corners and no central label hole. Aside from the expected wrinkles, it is also in Very Good Plus [VG+] condition.
