Details: - This is part of my Personal Private Press Folk/Psych/Prog Collection which I have spent many years acquiring - all are Originals!! No reissues/Replicas etc, I acquired them many years ago and only purchased the genuine copies, most of them have a very limited pressing (being private pressings) and range from 99 copies to just a few hundred, You will not see some of these come up for sale again for a very long time, if at all!!!
On offer here is the Very rare UK Album by "Mystery Maker" called "Mystery Maker" on `Caves` label - Run out/Matrix side 1 UHC 3A-1 NB/ side 2 UHC 3B-1 NB
Rarity:- Very rare! above standard private pressing - Dreamy Prog gem from 1977.
Music: Superior moody prog-laced British folk outfit often similar to the dreamy ballad style of groups like 11:59 and Cloud. Very peaceful, hushed, somewhat melancholy tone, surreal and motionless at times. Some achingly beautiful melodies aglow with fragile atmospheric male/female harmonies. Plenty of electric guitar with some excellent soloing, even some fuzz on the title track and ‘The Road To Emmaus’ where it crescendos to one of the albums heavier moments. I especially liked the Jerry Garcia-ish lead guitar on the magical ‘Giver Of Life’. Being a private press from England it understandably goes for some fairly big bucks. (Review taken from Internet)
Started life as Anawim, contributing several tracks to the 1975 Charisma label compilation Beyond An Empty Dream. Two years later they issued this extremely rare private pressing as Mystery Maker. The disc is sometimes compared to Ithaca in dealer lists, ..consisting mainly of haunting and rather eerie electric folk music. The rock elements are more prominent on side two, particularly on the title track, with its heavy electric guitar chords, and on the closer ‘The Road To Emmaus’, which climaxes with a stunning solo. Recording/production quality is very high with a definite Moody Blues feel, not too far away from the Ithaca - Game for all Who Know LP, well pressed and professional `Robert Stace` laminated sleeve, Top Drawer fro a private pressing, No booklet

Vinyl: (EX++/NM) Incredibly `Thick` Vinyl - under Bright Halogen Spotlights I can only see the lightest of sleeve removal marks, 1 or 2 non feelable hairlines, 1 small (1/8") feelable scratch clicks for a few times but no major problem - Great copy. Sleeve: (NM) Beautiful copy of this Top Drawer Front laminated `Robert Stace` Sleeve, Lovely spine, no fading or bad ringwear, still has sharp opening (see photos for full overview) a great find for this sleeve!!! Labels: Clean Labels - Just 1 visible spindle line each side - This record has hardly been played! Post/Packing: UK - £5.50, Europe - £7.50, World £11.50 * buy multiple items and save on postageI use professionally made box packers (not thin mailers) with added card stiffeners & bubble wrap, I always remove the record from the album cover for storage and for packing!! I always send my records out this way so that they arrive with the customer as they left me, my postage charges reflect this care, please don't bid if you object to these.
I use lots of photos to show as accurately as possible what you are getting (also I don't cut the corners of the record sleeve off the picture!!)
Gradings: I use the standard UK gradings as set out in Record Collector Magazine below:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
Near Mint, EX+, VG+ etc are acceptable additions to help `fine tune` descriptions for the buyer
