Machine Gun Peter Brotzmann Octet (FMP - Free Music Production 0090)
This 1972 release, the ninth ever by the venerable avant-garde German label, was recorded at the height of the student revolt in Europe - May 1968. Peter Brotzmann assembled the best musicians, to play his title composition as well as one each by Van Hove and Breuker.
Personnel: Peter Brotzmann (ts, bs, leader) with Willem Breuker, Evan Parker (ts); Fred Van Hove (p); Peter Kowald, Buschi Niebergall (b); Han Bennink, Sven Johansson (d).
Condition: Near Mint; disc is immaculate. No marks, no spindle wear; played once. Jacket is nearly so: No splits anywhere; no ringwear at all; one very slight bump, lower left. Tiny crease, also on front (not visible in photo). White-background jacket has hardly faded at all. Musician photos on back cover appear as they did when record issued. 1972 copyright symbol on label of 1989 repressing.I'm an independent seller, divesting his personal collection. Mine is the best price on Ebay a.t.o.p. (at time of posting).
