This beautiful 2LP gatefold set – a still-sealed copy – from Telarc (DG-10137, LPs pressed in Germany / jacket printed in the USA, label iteration unknown, DDD stereo) features conductor Sir Charles Mackerras and the London Symphony Orchestra’s magnificent account of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Op. 71 (complete ballet), sumptuously recorded in demonstration quality sound at Watford Town Hall, London, on 13/14 & 16 May 1986 – among the great Nutcrackers ever recorded, magical from start to finish, winner of a Rosette in the Penguin Guide.

This remarkable album was produced by Robert Woods and engineered by Jack Renner.
There are insightful liner notes, as well as a detailed synopsis by Richard E. Rodda. The amazing cover art was executed by the great Maurice Sendak.
CONDITION – PLEASE READ VERY CAREFULLY:
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of jacket is near-MINT. There is minor bumping at corners, but really that is all – overall, a very fine collector’s copy.
The condition of the 2 LPs is MINT. These are still-sealed, unplayed copies – ideal collector's copy.
PLEASE NOTE:
This LP has been carefully cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine. All LPs are provided with a new Nagaoka (or Nagaoka-style) inner sleeve.
