Hello record collectors and vinyl junkies, I'm in the process of selling off the majority of my record collection to finance the ongoing restoration of a classic car...hopefully without going bankrupt! So please check back often, as I'll be listing hundreds of LPs over the next few months.

Anyway, let's continue with this one titled Mad About The Boy released by Camp Records in the early/mid 1960's. (R.U. 1 Monophonic) Pink label with black print. (you gotta love the catalog number!)

Fabulous cover art on this one...with a nod to one of the greatest cover's of all time, Julie London's Calendar Girl.  I've shown a few close up photos of the cover "models" above.

This LP is one of two albums released by Camp Records in the mid 1960's. The LPs contain humorous double entendre songs, each with a gay theme. This is a very hard to find LP....let's just say that you were not gonna coem across this one in the top 40 section at Woolworths - Especially with the cover art on this one!

As far as I can tell, the Camp label was based in Hollywood, California and only released two full length albums and a handfull of singles. If this one caught your eye, please check my other auctions this week for Camp's other release The Queen Is In The Closet.

To whom is may concern:

The primary reason for doing this album, was to prove that good songs could and should be sung by everyone. Gender, should not be the determining factor as to who should sing what. far too many singers have all to often been frustrated by lyrics not being acceptable from them because of text. Hence, we the producers of Camp Records, who in the past have been known to be somewhat un-hackneyed in out choice of material, decided to do this album. If you, the listener, relax...and listen...you will hear some of the great tunes of our times. Some, you will recognize and others may come to you afresh, inasmuch as these have not been... "done to death." we have perused the scores of Broadway shows...old films...and publishers' catalogues, and have come up with what we hope, you will discover to be a wonderful potpourri of love songs...... Done In A Most Unique Way!

Originally, we were going to title this album, "You've Got To Have Guts!" ...but then we realized, that the public would think we were trying to be sensationalists.

Unfortunately, we are not al liberty to give credit, to the arranger, and the many gifted artists involved in this production. However, to those with a discerning ear, you will recognize the stylings of some very fine and well known personalities. you can only guess as to who they are.......and chances are, you'll be right!

Our many soloists, is a delightfully gifted young man, whose name unfortunately must be withheld at this time. We will mearly refer to him as......The Boy.  In years to come, perhaps his name in conjunction with this production will become known......(thus giving the owner of this album, a collectors item.)

The vocal group used in this production is make up of four of the better known Hollywood T.V. and screen personalities. Here again, we are not at liberty to reveal true names......so for now, we will refer to them, as ...... The Gentle-Men.

Both LP and Cover are in very good condition. The LP has a several light marks that are visible under a spotlight and cause an occasional pop, click or bit of surface noise when played. The top seam on the cover is split all the way across, and the spine has some wear on the upper and lower corners but no writing, cut out marks, rips, tears or other flaws.

I grade on a stricter scale than Goldmine (at least the watered down version that seems to exist here on eBay) I will take the time to describe any flaws on both the cover and record itself rather than give a letter grade that will mean something different to seemingly every record buyer and seller.

I am a very picky record collector and have been let down many times buying a record that was graded VG++ or NM here on eBay and other mail order services that were pretty beat up...and I'm sure that has happened to you too!

Due to overwhelming requests, I generally ship domestic packages by Media Mail. However, please keep in mind that while Media Mail ihis the cheapest shipping method, it is also the slowest. Media Mail can take one month or MORE to arrive. Media Mail shipping within the United States is $4.00 including mandatory Delivery Confirmation.

I do combine shipping for multiple purchases. The $4.00 covers between one and two albums. Additional albums (three and up) are an additional .25 cents each. Please wait for an invoice from me as the Paypal system does not calculate the combined shipping.

Overseas shipping is by Air Mail only. Shipping for one LP to Canada is $7.00 and everywhere else in the world is $14.00. Overseas shipping is by regular air mail and can take anywhere from one to four weeks to arrive. I do combine shipping on overseas purchases - I will send an invoice with the combined shipping cost if you purchase more than one LP.

Sorry I no longer ship to Italy or the Russian Federation due to the high number of "lost" packages.

All records are mailed in cardboard record mailers with cardboard inserts to prevent damage. LP will be removed from the cover to prevent seam splits while in transit.

I do offer a money back guarantee if you are not satisfied with your purchase. I do not make my living selling on eBay it is supposed to be a fun hobby so if there is a problem at any point during the transaction please let me know so we can work out a solution.
