Description
Up for auction is Mad Season and Seattle Symphony's Sonic Evolution, recorded live in 2015 at Benaroya Hall in Seattle and pressed on two red and black splatter vinyl records (a.k.a, The Mad Splatter). Both the sleeve and the vinyl are nearly mint. I've only opened the package, admired the color, perhaps cleaned the records and then put them into some nice Mobile Fidelity inner sleeves to keep them safe forever. I didn't even remove the shrinkwrap, so I have no idea what image is on the gatefold.
A brief history: Mad Season was a 1995 Seattle supergroup featuring members of Pearl Jam (Mike McCready), Alice In Chains (Layne Staley, R.I.P.) and Screaming Trees (Barrett Martin), as well as bassist (John Baker Saunders, R.I.P.).
Album description from Pearl Jam's website: On January 30, 2015, surviving Mad Season members Mike McCready and Barrett Martin performed selections from the band's repertoire at the Seattle Symphony's Sonic Evolution concert, with conductor Ludovic Morlot and guest artists including Soundgarden's Chris Cornell (filling in for the late Layne Staley), Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron and Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan (filling in for the late John Baker Saunders).
The Mad Season performance also included guests Jeff Angell, Kim Virant, Sean Kinney (Alice In Chains), Skerik and Tim Dijulio.
The night also included appearances from Pearl Jam's Jeff Ament and Stone Gossard, who alongside Cornell, McCready and Cameron, performed songs as Temple Of The Dog.
This event was the result of a yearlong artistic collaboration between Mike McCready and Seattle Symphony Music Director Ludovic Morlot.
