Description

An original 1st press for the UK market. Etching "DMM". So, on the face of it all these copies look alike right? Well, that's not quite the whole truth. At 1st issue issue record companies often put out higher quality pressings early on only to pump out lower quality pressings just a matter of weeks later. They always had one eye on the bottom line! What is quite smart is trying to snag these early -higher- quality copies. Only problem is from an on-line perspective you can't visibly see the difference. BUT I can assure you there IS a difference. The heavier pressed copies will sound better and are far more resilient too. This is one of those examples. Most copies from this period are the flimsy wobbly board copies. This example is heavier pressed and more sturdy. The vinyl comes housed in an original cover WITHOUT hype sticker leaving the original aesthetic unaffected. We also have the delicate high quality inner totally intact! So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In superb condition and has only seen light use. A couple of light marks per side - but nothing heavy or anything that will enter the audio spectrum. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. If you love this title why would you want to compromise on the audio? Go for the absolute best copy you can get your hands on. And this copy will pay back major dividends for audio. Don't assume all 1st copies are the same...they're not! Intros and inbetweens are beautifully quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Notice how in a number of tracks they go into almost orchestra moments with the strings way up in the mix. If you want to properly hear all of this untainted with clean background you're gonna need to select a high quality lightly used copy. Literally, a fantastic rendition. Acoustic start to 'Spanish Eyes' plays clean. 'Prayer' on a great copy like this is massively crankable... I can guarantee it will smoke all the other copies on-line for audio. Spin it...Love it. I'm struggling to find fault really. At worst a couple of crackles in a couple of spots per side. A banger for sure!
Cover (Ex/Ex+) Really well preserved cover. Nice shiny flat surfaces with just one tiny nick on the the thumb. Hardly any edge wear and sharp openings. Four pointy corners. Spine 99% intact. Really nice without the usual signs of ageing. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex) I always liked this inner sleeve. It is a quality job....very nice delicate feel to it and it's lined. Sweet~! Only downside is that after 30 years they're usually knackered or aged. But this example has time travelled in remarkable condition. No signs of ageing or foxing. Only slightest edge wear. A small side edge split has been internally tape repaired. It's looking pretty dandy!
