Born in Brooklyn, Miss Mae West was shortly afterward banned in Boston for her work as a freedom fighter. The freedom for which Miss West fought was summed up in the title of the most noteworthy of her theatrical offerings "Sex." And in her hot [pursuit of simple candor about the most basic of human hobbies. Miss West, throughout the years, found herself in jail, in court, and in history.
Memorable as a star of stage, screen and lifesaving techniques, Miss West has registered a number of noteworthy insights on the passing American scene. Among her comments:
On being a good neighbor: "Come up and see me some time."
On Agriculture: "Beulah, peel me a grape."
On the Productive Use of Leisure: "I like a man who takes his time." Having had her say, Miss Mae West is now having her sing. In her recent Tower release, "Way Out West," Miss West reaffirmed her star status, this time in the Rock and Roll medium. Now, she cocks a knowing eye on the Season to be Jolly, and carresses Christmas witht the sure knowledge that Santa Claus is only a man, while Mae West - is Mae West.
Album includes renditions of Elvis Presley’s “Santa, Bring My Baby Back To Me”; Eartha Kitt’s “Santa Baby”; The Beatles’ “With Love From Me To You”; and a take-off on her trademark line “Santa, Come Up and See Me.” And she loved Quint Benedetti’s song “Put The Loot In The Boot, Santa”
