This justly famous and rare limited edition album (No. 1116 from a 3000 copy run) – the LP is still sealed* – from Erato (EJA 12, French pressing, blue Curci label, mono) entitled “Le piano français de Chabrier à Debussy” features legendary pianist Magda Tagliaferro in a magical surevy of French piano music, all bound in a deluxe gatefold album with a 12-page richly illustrated booklet printed on glossy art paper.

Though not in stereo, this mono issue employs the identical lavish jacket with the cloth spine.

*Although the album here is not sealed in cellophane, the LP itself is factory sealed in the original polysleeve – a truly pristine, unplayed copy.

These inimitable performances were warmly recorded at the Studio Hoche, Paris, on 9 and 11 October 1961.

The superb 12-page, full-size, inbound booklet – printed on glossy art paper – is an added attraction to this remarkable album. It includes the following:

> Extensive notes on the music, including numerous illustrations, by Bertrand Ott

> A listing of other titles in Erato’s deluxe “Jardin des Arts” (catalog prefix EJA) series

Incidentally, the lovely cover art reproduces a detail from Camille Pissarro’s “Le Pont-Neuf”.

CONDITION:

The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.

The condition of the jacket is VERY GOOD. There is light edgewear, discoloration, and aging to the front panel, as well as to some of the interior pages. However, there are no seamsplits, bends, owners’ markings or other defects, and the album remains solid, bright, and highly attractive – overall, a very good collector's copy.

The condition of the LP is MINT. This is a still-sealed, unplayed copy – the ideal collector's copy.

This LP has been carefully cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine. All LPs are provided with a new Nagaoka (or Nagaoka-style) inner sleeve.
