Mahler Das Lied von der Erde Kletzki UK HMV ASD 351
Original UK ASD Cream and Gold Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau 2nd heading
Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau and Murray Dickie with the Philharmonia Orchestra conducted by Paul Kletzki perform Mahler’s "Das Lied von der Erde" plus the "Adagietto" from the Stmphony No. 5. A two record set, this is an English stereo pressing on the HMV Label (ASD 351/2). The labels are cream with a gold border and stereophonic, plum lettering, Made on Great Britain, and a small shaded dog. The second track of side one has a noticeable pressing flaw, and this clicks softly for about 10 revolutions – otherwise the records are of excellent appearance and play and sound superb with a minimum of surface noise. The covers have rubbed and the laminate on record two has lifted along the right-hand edge.
