In the early ’10s, the Bay Area duo Main Attrakionz helped pioneer a loose, drifting emotive rap style that turned out to have a reach way beyond the underground; a guy like past collaborator A$AP Rocky took a whole lot of his vibe from them. It’s been a while since we’ve heard from the group, but they’re back with the new album 808s & Dark Grapes III, produced entirely by the beatmaking duo Friendzone.
