This lovely gatefold LP from La Voix de son Maitre / EMI (2 C 069-43271, French pressing, large dog semi-circle label, DDD stereo) features the great Mischa Maisky in a captivating all-French music program, recorded with legendary pianist Martha Argerich.
The exact contents are as follows:
Franck: Sonata in A Major
(details of the arrangement Maisky uses are not given; presumably it is that by Jules Delsart)
Debussy: Sonata in G minor
Debussy: La plus que lente
Debussy: Minstrels (No. 12 from Preludes Book I)
All four performances were recorded in the warm acoustics of the Geneva Conservatory during 29-31 December 1981 (producer: John Willan / engineer: Michael Sheady).
The striking cover photo was taken by Yannick Muller. The interior panels of the gatefold jacket carry additional photos and illustrations, as well as insightful liner notes by Jean Gallois, provided in French only.
CONDITION:
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the jacket is EXCELLENT. There is minor corner wear, but really that is all. There are no seamsplits, owners' markings, or other defects, and the whole remains solid, bright, glossy, and highly attractive – overall, an excellent collector's copy.
The condition of the LP is near-MINT and playback is superb – overall, a truly fine collector's copy.

This LP has been carefully cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine. All LPs are provided with a new Nagaoka (or Nagaoka-style) inner sleeve.
