PLEASE CONSIDER THAT IN THESE EBAY AUCTIONS I USE A STRICT RECORD COLLECTOR MAGAZINE GRADING SYSTEM THAT CAN'T DISAPPOINT ANYONE BUT THIS DOESN'T MEAN THAT ,FOR EXAMPLE, A VG+ COVER OR A VG+ VINYL IT'S EQUIVALENT TO "BAD CONDITIONS" BUT SIMPLY THAT MY GRADE IT'S STRICT AND PROBABLY EQUIVALENT TO AN EX OF SOMEONE ELSE WITH NOT A SO STRICT GRADE. I HAVE SOLD IN THESE AUCTIONS EX- RECORDS THAT WERE SURELLY M- COPIES BUT I PREFERE TO BE STRICT TO AVOID ANY DISAPPOINTEMENT BECAUSE I TAKE GREAT CARE OF MY REPUTATION.
Record Collector Magazine Grading System MINT The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
FAIR The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
graded VG++/EX for a strict Record Collector magazine grading system
label: The classic british pressed Marmalade label of 1968, 608004 it's in perfect conditions without spindle marks or others defects so EX.
cover: the cover it's full laminated and it's very well preserved with minor lamination lift front and back along the spine, some minimal creases and a beginning of ring over the lamination so very thin.I consider these minor defects for a full laminated cover of 44 years ago so I grade it a full VG++ or more.
vinyl:The vinyl does not have marks or defects so EX in my very strict grading system.
review: Really a nice original copy of this unmissable blues progressive masterpiece. Sonny Boy Williamson don't need to be presented because it's forever in the Blues history, at least I hope. Here's backing band surelly a bit more at the time but surelly not today, at least between the records collectors... I really hope so at least, because they are the creme of the british musical movement of the period: Brian Auger with his Trinity it's probably the most talented organist of ever, Jimmy Page surelly one of the best guitarists of all times plus Joe Harriot and Alan Skidmore that are in the top of the British Jazz legend, and so this is surelly a so interesting record that I imagine the most of you are looking for. This lp was conceived during the six months of Sonny Boy Williamson's trip in Europe. He lived in the house of Brian Auger and he meet the best british blues and jazz performers and he particularly liked Brian Auger, John Mayall, The Yardbirds. In the back notes of Giorgio Gomelsky he said that Eric Clapton wanted to be on the section but forgot all about it and so we asked Jimmy Page instead and after this he will be the Yardbirds lead guitarist...this is quite interesting I think. The notos of Brian Auger about his meeting with Sonny Boy are even more interesting because there's all the true emotion of a young organist that meet one of his idols during a session and play with him some instants later and decide to organize with his manager a session just before Sonny Boy come back home. I'm proud to offer you the original press of this event of 44 years ago ...Don't miss!
