Wilderness is the album where Makeup and Vanity Set traded neon arcade glow for something colder and more reverent - twenty tracks of analog texture, choral hush, and slow-burn synth that play like a film score for a forest at night. This copy has never been opened. The shrink wrap is still on.
What It Is
Wilderness by Makeup and Vanity Set (Matthew Pusti), the tenth full-length release from the Nashville-based fantasy synthesist behind 88:88 and the Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon soundtrack. Originally issued by Telefuture / YK Records and later reissued on Electric Dream Records, the album spans two LPs housed in a gatefold jacket. The cover carries the album's signature design - a darkened wilderness photograph with the bilingual red kanji block ( / Makeup and Vanity Set - Wilderness) seated in the lower left.

Why It Matters
Wilderness is a high-water mark in the synthwave / cinematic electronic catalog and one of MAVS's most coveted vinyl releases. Every pressing has been limited - 250 for the 2015 first press, 300 for the 2016 black repress, and 250 again for the 2020 dark red and black swirl edition - and unopened copies move quickly on the secondary market. The record features guest appearances from The Protomen, Big Black Delta, Jasmin Kaset, and Thomas Barrandon, and the album was paired with a companion short film, Eidolon, directed by Joey Ciccoline.
Condition
Sealed in factory shrink wrap. The plastic is intact across the front, back, and spine with the usual light surface wrinkling and a few small creases along the wrap where it folds over the jacket edges. No tears, no punctures, and no stickers on the wrap. The jacket itself shows the album's cover art clearly through the wrap, with the red kanji block crisp and unscuffed. Corners and spine present as straight under the shrink. Inner contents have not been inspected because the seal is intact.
