Description
Mal Waldron & Steve Lacy Let's Call This (2 LPs) (Hat ART 2038)
Waldron (p) and Lacy (ss) with, on one track, Enrico Rava (tpt). While the good friends had recorded together in 1958, and then did so again once they'd become US expatriates a few years later, this double album was taken from their very first recordings as a duet. It took twenty-three years from that first time together, and a live setting (a Paris jazz club), to produce an intense, one-to-one telepathy that sounds so inevitable . . . that it should have happened a lot sooner.
The two remain among the greatest interpreters that Thelonious Monk's music has ever had.
Box is classic Hat Hut: near-half-inch-thick cardboard that houses the LPs with an inside flap, on which is a photo of Lacy leaning over the club's piano to talk to Waldron. Outside of box shows little wear, mostly in the front cover's colors having dulled slightly over the decades. Also, an inch border around the back cover has darkened a little. The boxes' corners are strong, only lower left corner slightly bumped. All wording on (three sides') spines clear and clean. No creases anywhere.
I'm an independent seller divesting his own record collection. I'm not selling from a store or warehouse, with multiple copies of titles, or on behalf of a professional collector. Copies are selling elsewhere on the internet for nearly $90.
Shipping: Ebay requires seller to indicate shipping methods and other particulars, then automatically inserts the cost at the top of the listing. Buyer will pay amount as determined by destination and shipping method he chooses; I don't gouge the price to make more profit. (USPS Media Mail is cheapest; I will provide prices for US Priority, or for FedEx or UPS ground, if requested.)
Insurance is mandatory.
Please wait till I inform you of cost prior to submitting payment. It and not Ebay's stated cost is the amount to be paid.
**For winners outside US**: USPS shipping options are International Priority and International Express. Both methods include insurance but only Express has tracking. If you want a different shipper, I will quote you the cost at end of auction.
Packing: The LP will be carefully wrapped, then placed in a standard, cardboard LP box. Please indicate any special instructions.
Payment: I accept Paypal. I also accept cash in cases of in-person deliveries.
Returns: Returns will be accepted in cases of error in description.

NM A record known or assumed to have been played. May have a surface scuff mark but only from removing and reinserting record in sleeve. May have slight spindle wear. Otherwise, appears same as N in all respects.
VG++ More handling marks visible than on N-, but should play like a new record.
VG+ No more than a few minor scratches or marks which are audible. Such scratches or other defects will usually be described in specific detail. Record will usually not have any groove wear.
VG More than a few minor audible defects, but no steady noise. No appreciable groove wear.
