This is simply gorgeous and dynamic music & is beautifully recorded.The photos of the back cover text will tell you more and it should be readable, but let me know. If text & cover photos appear at all "grayish" or "darkish", they are really a clean off-white as they should be.
I once owned 72 lineal feet of mostly pristine LP’s, many played maybe once to a few times or not at all — I was collecting way too much! I pared down to a smaller collection after selling my state-of-the-art stereo system (VPI turntable / Graham tonearm / Benz Micro cartridge) about 20 years ago. This record has been stored unplayed under ideal conditions since that disposal. My decision to end my "high-end" playing days was also due to my hearing worsening more than expected. This LP was bought opened and was played a handful of times.
Listening as carefully as I can for anything significant, I hear nothing that I can attribute to soft pops or scratches on either side. Overall, this Lyrita plays about as quietly as any LP gets. All LP playback setups have different signal to noise characteristics so YMMV. I have no qualms representing this LP as excellent sounding throughout. Don’t forget, this very unique music found its way onto HP’s coveted super disk list. It is a very special recording. A few unexpected drum beats will "wake you up" as this is as good a stereo "test" record as you'll likely find. Very dynamic.
The only aspect of this sample that is puzzling to me is the spindle hole, which looks worn with tiny pieces of blue label gone. But the LP is visually pristine otherwise and is flat. I don't recall it fitting tight on spindle but maybe it did. But aside from those minor marks, the rest of LP looks mint. Some Lyrita's were also thin as is this sample. I had two copies once and both sounded the same despite vinyl thickness differences.
The LP comes with a quality 6 mil outer sleeve over the jacket. When shipped the LP's will be removed from jacket to prevent tears & damage to the jacket.
