Description

I bought this album in Florida in 1971 and have had it on the shelf ever since. Mance (from ‘emancipation’) was born in 1895 in Texas and died in 1976 in the same town in which he was born. (Navasota - in which there is a park named after him). He was discovered in 1960 and became a regular performer at folk and blues festivals. Most of his recordings are on this Arhoolie Records label.
