- All of our used records are play-graded and come in a protective outer-sleeve.
CONDITION DETAILS Vinyl plays with crackles and occasional clicks and pops (play-graded). Gate-fold cover has a few creases near edges; light-scuffing, slight discoloration with darker discoloration spots, and surface impressions (front/back/inner-gate); small number sticker near top-right on front; water damage along left on inner-gate. Inner-sleeve is original (Poppy); tear near bottom on one side. Spine is mostly easy-to-read with wear. Shelf-wear along side-edges and corners. Top opening is crisp with signs of light use and divots. Circular insert NOT included. (Not a cut-out.)
ABOUT THE RECORD Puzzle, by Mandrake Memorial, is a pioneering work of psychedelic and progressive rock, blending intricate orchestration, avant-garde electronics, and baroque elements, produced by Ronald Frangipane and engineered by Brooks Arthur. Historically significant for its ambitious studio experimentation, it pushed boundaries with tracks like Earthfriend and Bucket of Air, earning praise from figures like Seiji Ozawa, who called it a captivating recording, and Fusion magazine, which hailed it as "a symphony of the mind." Despite critical acclaim, the album's high production costs and lack of commercial success contributed to the band's dissolution shortly after. The album included a unique interactive nine-piece cardboard puzzle in early pressings, enhancing its collectible status.
