Description

Rare in any condition.  Marcel Mule Saxophone Quartet 78 rpm record set Selmer Artist Album (not complete!)

Side binding is totally gone, front cover is NOT attached.

Originally a 4 - 78 rpm set of "Saxophone of Paris featuring Marcel Mule and the Saxophone Quartette of Paris" Selmer Artist Album

Originally included

Bajo le Mesa (Ibert) and Caprice(Bonneau), La Precieuse (Couperin-Kreisler) and Lebesfreud(Kreisler), Theme and Scherzo from Quartet (Glazonnov), Menuet (Boccherini) and Scherzo (Scarlatti), Les Dauphins (Vellones) and Le Vol du Bourdon (Flight of the Bumblebee) Rimsky-Korsakov.

Included in this auction are TWO of the original 78s and the booklet as described above.

78 - #1 - Bajo le Mesa and Caprice.  These look MINT and UNPLAYED.  Georgeous ! ! !   WOW ! ! ! Also on 78 is Part 9701, MS 9701.  This is on label and on inside of 78 b7 label.  Part 9701 is stamped, "3608  MS 1979" is hand scratched by label on Caprice side. On Bajo side is stamped "part 9697" and hand scratched by label 3604 MS - 1975. Again, I believe is to be unplayed. However, on Bjo side there appears to be a factory original defect.  A reverse scratch (pushed out scratch, again I am NOT a record dealer) about 1/2 inch about 3/4 down record.

78 - #2 - La Preciuse and Liebesfreud.  These appear to have actually been played in contrast to above 78.  Label shows handling wear.  However, NO SCRATCHES on either side I can see.  Liebesfreud is stamped MS-1977  and M3-125688 by label.  Handwritten is 3606 and also MS 1988.  La Preciuse has stamped Part - 9698 and hand scratched 3605 amd MS1976.

As a sax player myself, I know this is a very rare and hard set, in any condition.
