MEGA RARE ORIGINAL STEREO BRAZILIAN PRESSING of MPB legend Marcos Valle's 1971 masterpiece Garra! I am very proud to be offering one of these up for sale - I doubt I will find another, especially in the condition this is in!
Marcos Valle was very popular in Brazil in the 60s but his early 70s albums, as great as they are, did not sell well at the time. Of course, now they have the recognition they deserve - excellent reissue label Light In The Attic reissued this album last year and since then an interest in his albums has risen a lot!! I have been a fan of Valle for years and this album is one of his best - it is truly flawless, and is definitely one of my favourite Brazilian albums. Since the LITA reissue this album finally has the recognition is deserves - it truly is a masterpiece. Musically, it is as good as it gets - seriously funky, deep grooves, mellow and jazzy - Brazilian music at its best! Features the legendary title track and the sublime Wanda Vidal (which is in fact one of my favourite songs of all time!)
I must stress that this is NOT A REISSUE - THIS IS A 100% GENUINE FIRST PRESSING FROM 1971 in the 'plastic bag' sleeve!! IT IS ALSO THE STEREO PRESSING WHICH IS FAR RARER THAN THE MORE COMMON MONO!!
This is an ideal one for any serious collector of Brazilian music - I myself have been collecting Brazilian music for many years and this is definitely one of the more elusive albums from the early 70s - and this is also the best example I have ever seen! You will be not be disappointed! Don't miss out!
Vinyl is in EX condition : one light mark on side 1 which does not sound, light pressing marks which do not sound, plays brilliantly with light surface noise, great LOUD pressing!!
'Plastic bag' sleeve is in VG+ condition : these are very prone to wear and serious damage but this one has held up very well, the plastic is all still sealed around the edges so the card sheets are safely preserved and untouched, the only flaw is that there are 5 little holes in the plastic on the back (see 4th pic), other than that it is a lovely example!
