Marcus Hook Roll Band Rare ORIG OZ LP Tales of old grand daddy VG+ 73 EMI AC/DC
Rare Original 1st Press OZ LP released in 1973 on EMI REcords. Cat: EMC.2518.Marcus Hook Roll Band wasn't a long-lived band, nor did they get much attention when they were active between the years of 1972 and 1974. Nevertheless, the studio-based group occupies an important place in Australian rock & roll history because this creation of famed producers Harry Vanda and George Young also featured George's brothers Malcolm and Angus Young (first time they were recorded on vinyl!!), who would go on to form AC/DC after the dissolution of Marcus Hook Roll Band. Musically there were echoes of the Easybeats, Vanda/Young's big '60s success, but overall the album has a lovely soul tinged blues rock sound. That was all evident on their lone album, Tales of Old Grand Daddy, which appeared in Australia in 1973 and was succeeded by several singles. None of the recordings were a hit and soon the project came to an end, with Vanda/Young pursuing a very successful production career highlighted by the early AC/DC records.

There is some pen marks on each side of label. Record has some light scuff marks and very light scratches that cause some light crackles throughout mostly noticeable between tracks and a light mark over the beginning of track three side one which cause very some very light pops for around 10 rotations, also some light crackles at start of track 4 side 1 and a few light pops at start of track 2 side two. Record does not jump or skip at all and over all plays well. Record is graded at VG+. Cover has some ring wear, a small deletion cut on top right corner, a few tiny surface tears and light marks on back, some tiny surface tears around edges and a small piece of back cover where tracks 3 & 4 of side two should be listed has been cut out. all seams are fully intact with no seam splits. Cover is graded at VG+.

Wrapping method: All records are sent in stiff cardboard mailers then wrapped in brown paper and sealed around edges with brown packaging tape. Records are taken out of sleeve to avoid seam splits and ring wear.
Post methods within Australia: All records are posted via Australia Post. Within Australia all items come with a tracking number.
Post method for overseas: All parcels are sent via Australia Post and are sent on a standard airmail service. There are no tracking numbers on these items. If you require a tracking number the item will have to be sent as an insured item which incurs a further postage fee.
