Description
Here’s a classic set, the fabled Maria Callas in one of her signature operas, Cherubini’s dramatic “Medea.” This absolutely immaculate 3-LP set from the fabled Mercury Olympian catalog (Mercury SR3-9000) was made in 1958 and looks like new. Made in association with La Scala, Milan, with the eminent Tullio Serafin on the podium. Callas sings the title role, with soprano Renata Scotto as Glauce, tenor Mirto Picchi as Jason, bass Giuseppe Modesti as Creon. Comes with an illustrated 24-page full-size booklet with Italian-English libretto. About as perfect as a 50-year-old product can be.
Please note: This album is from the first batch of an enormous collection of opera LPs, owned by a collector with a fanatical regard for condition. They are all in superb A condition, with the original booklets (or substitutes) and boxes (some have very small flaws, mentioned if applicable). Each disc has been visually inspected, but a few have been sampled on first-class equipment and have all been found in immaculate condition. Satisfaction is guaranteed.
