Description
This bundle of Marillion releases are in differering conditions so read on for information on each one.
These have all been played numerous times over the last 35 years so do show signs of handling, wear and use. They have been in storage for the last five years.
Due to their age and use low crackle can be heard on some of the run in/out and some of the silent/quiet parts, where any crackle is bad it is highlighted in the description.
Having spent the last few hours listening non stop to Marillion it is possible I may have tuned out to the occasional blip and missed it. Any skips, crackle, pops I am aware of are noted in the descriptions.
Here is what you get -
1. Seasons End Vinyl LP
EMI (EMD1011)
Outer Sleeve - Very Good plus. No splits on seams or spine. Very minor scuffs to the gatefold corners. No markings on sleeve. Handling evidence at a minimum.
Inner Sleeve - Generic plain sleeve.
Vinyl - Fair (Solely because of track one, otherwise Good plus). Light hairlines visible but not excessive in number. Minimal groovewear evident. Minor surface marks to the very edges of vinyl. Couple of light superficial 'scratches' on side one. Side one track one a few pops, noticeable crackle to start with and two small skips on intro before the song kicks in and another skip towards the end of the track, side two track two couple of pops mid-song. After track one, which is still listenable, the vinyl plays fine.
The attached clip is the start of Easter, the quietest song on the album to give you an idea of the low crackle.
2. Holidays In Eden Vinyl LP
EMI (EMD1022)
Outer Sleeve - Good plus. No splits on seams or spine. Scuffing along top seam and corners.
Inner Sleeve - Excellent. No splits or rips to seams. No markings. Minimal evidence of handling.
Vinyl - Very Good. A couple of pops in the first ten seconds of track one with some low crackle. Light hairlines visible but not excessive in number. Minor superficial surface marks to edge of vinyl. Light groovewear visible in a few places.
3. Hooks In You 12" Single
EMI (12MARIL10)
Outer Sleeve - Very Good. No splits or rips to the seams. Very minor bend to corner. Ringwear visible to back and slight discolour from another sleeve.
Vinyl - Good plus. Plays fine with no skips or pops. Light crackle run in/out. Numerous light hairlines visible. Superficial surface marks around edge of vinyl. Minimal/zero groovewear evident. Plays well.
4. Uninvited Guest 12" Single
EMI (12MARIL11)
Outer Sleeve - Very Good. No splits on the seams or spine. Minor scuffs to top seam and bottom corner. Rip to the opening door at the rear (caused by removing and replacing the vinyl, it gets caught on the door!)
Inner Sleeve - Excellent. No splits or rips. No markings to the sleeve. Handling evidence very minimal.
Vinyl - Very Good. Plays with no skips. Low crackle on run in/out. Light hairlines visible but not excessive. Few surface marks, mostly towards the edge of the vinyl. Plays good.
5. Uninvited Guest 7" Picture Disc (Signed)
EMI (MARILPD11)
This copy was already signed when I bought it. There are four signatures to the back of the disc and one on the front. In addition there are two signatures on the cardboard insert. As it was already signed I can't vouch for the authenticity of the signatures.
Outer Sleeve - Good. Just a generic clear plastic sleeve. Bottom stuck with clear tape
Insert - Excellent. Cardboard insert with two signatures.
Vinyl - Has never been played by me as it has five signatures on it.
6. Dry Land 10" Single Clear Vinyl
EMI (10MARIL15)
Outer Sleeve - Very Good plus. No rips. Minor marking where price sticker was. Handling evidence at a minimum.
Vinyl - Very Good. This vinyl is clear and looks in great condition when held up in the light. Doesn't seem to have had much play. Plays well with no skips.
Overall a selection of early Hogarth Marillion releases that although not in mint condition can still be played and enjoyed after all these years. Other than the signed picture disc, all the releases are relatively easy to get hold off on here at varying prices and conditions. If you don't mind used vinyl that has seen some life this bundle could be for you.
If my copy of Easter 12" Single hasn't sold when this does then that will be added to the bundle at no extra cost.
VINYL RECORD GRADING
VERY GOOD (VG) - A vinyl record that has some signs of wear and may have some minor defects but still plays well.
GOOD PLUS (G+) - A vinyl record that has noticeable wear and defects but still plays well without skipping.
FAIR (F) - A vinyl record that has significant wear and defects and may skip.
PLEASE NOTE - I don't rate any of my vinyl above Very Good as they have all been played on numerous occasions over the last 35 years.
All my vinyl are from my collection I am slowly selling. All get play tested at least three times, once before listing once when sold and once before despatch.
