Description
ITEM DESCRIPTION:
This outstanding LP from La Voix de Son Maitre (ASDF 155, French pressing, large dog semi-circle label – ED1, stereo) features Igor Markevitch and the Philharmonia Orchestra's stunning account of Stravinsky's Le sacre du printemps, recorded at EMI Studio No. 1, Abbey Road, London, in January/February 1959 – still one of the finest performances on record. The cover art reproduces a detail from Henri Matisse's "La Danse". The liner notes on the reverse side, in French only, are by Marcel Marnat.
CONDITION:
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the jacket is VERY GOOD. There is a sticker tear to the lower-left corner and light edge wear. However, there are no seam splits, owners' markings, or other defects and the album remains solid, bright, glossy, and attractive – overall, this rates as a very good collector's copy.
The condition of the LP itself is near-MINT. Though the surfaces are not perfectly silent (and thus I have rated it NM vs. MINT) this is a fine copy and playback is superb. If you must have perfect surfaces, then please do not buy this LP. Overall, this rates as a NM collector's copy.
