A really sweet copy with a very nice record and an awesome jacket. Save for the tiny cut-out hole the jacket is a strong NM to Mint minus. Nothing in this world, is really Mint, well not any fifty year old used album jackets anyway. Other than the drill hole this one is as close to gem mint as you get without actually being gem mint; and again, some would still call it so. There is no aging or browning in the least, it is like the day it was made. Also interestingly enough it comes in a plain white solid no-hole inner sleeve, which is the original since it has the same drill hole lined up right. This was very early Gordy before they had enough other albums to even print an inner sleeve of pictures of.
The vinyl is also Excellent. It looks nice and plays even better. The common wisdom in vinyl days was that a record did not deliver its' best sound until it had been played 6-7 times and the micro flaws in the pressing polished out. This one might not be played more than 2-3 times plus once more by myself. It sounds Excellent, there is no general background noise or groove wear, there is no worse than an occasional faint tick and not many of those. Side one by our scale below is a strong Very Fine, or what some call Excellent or VG++. Side two by sight is a Very Fine minus by our scale but plays with no less quality. There are several longer scuffs but they are very light; scuffs and not scratches. I have looked at them with a jeweler's loupe as well as playing the record and so far as the sound goes it is the same as if they were not even there. The "silent grooves" between songs are 99% quiet. Or maybe 98% I never scaled that before, point is that the record has not been played much and sounds awesome. One good test is the lead-in on side one. That side is usually most played, and if there is any noise from careless cuing or a bad needle, you will hear it. The lead in is very quiet. First a tick or two, then pretty quiet. Not like a cd when they drop out, you could tell there was a needle on a record, but the point again is that this record simply hasn't got more than a hint of groove wear or static; and if it does, only in spots and not in most spots. Even a sealed copy would be little improvement.
The last copy sold on eBay in close to comparable condition (research on popsike auction results site) went for $225 and I think mine is a better copy. There is no reserve and I seriously suggest you go for it.

Grading of LP record albums:
Mint: Not part of our vocabulary in general, but would refer to a sealed unopened record.
Near Mint: Looks brand new.
Near Mint minus: Perhaps one or two tiny blemishes.
Very Fine plus: Very close to new, appears to have been played possibly two or three times.
Very Fine: Still close to new and only slightly used, a few faint marks or sleeve scratches. Only if the music level is soft is it possible to hear a hint of surface static.
Very Fine minus: Surface blemishes no worse than for VF but a few more of them.
Very Good plus: Light scratches possible but nothing even close to bad.
Very Good: May have a number of light scratches but still nothing bad. Moderate surface static can generally be heard during the music but does not interfere with it. note: Few record albums made in the 50's or 60's actually play any better than VG or VG+ regardless of their appearance.
Very Good minus: The surface noise rivals the music but does not exceed it.
Good plus: No awful scratches but will have a lot of them. Surface noise has overtaken the music.
