Up for grabs is this hard-to-find UK SRT custom pressing vinyl 7" single, in a stapled wraparound picture sleeve, by experimental minimal synth artist, Martin O'Cuthbert. Entitled Serene Machines, the B-side is Space Shall Weave Our Destiny. This was the second single released on the Esoteric label and has two catalogue numbers - an Esoteric one and an SRT one; these are E.E.2 and S/78/CUS 186. The date of issue is 1978.  

This is a bit of a weird one as it's in a previously undocumented yellow wraparound sleeve (slightly brighter yellow than the pictures have come out) which has additional designs on the front than the usually seen white sleeve. Some of the text on the back is in a slightly rearranged position than the white sleeve. The yellow sleeve is stapled around a plain white paper sleeve in exactly the same way that the more usual white wraparound sleeve is. The record is original and identical to those found in the white sleeves with identical labels and matrix numbers (see pics and pressing details below). The only clue is the text "1978 to 1988" which appears on the front cover (see pic); so, based on that, my guess is that leftover stock of the original pressing was given a new sleeve in 1988 and sold at that time. However, I could be completely wrong on that score so any definite info is welcome.

Condition

The vinyl is in Excellent condition. 

The labels are in Excellent condition, clean and bright with clear, perfect printing and only the very lightest of spindle marks. 

The stapled wraparound picture cover is in Excellent Minus condition with the odd very faint crease.

All my vinyl records are strictly graded according to Record Collector magazine's grading system. Please check my GRADING GUIDE to see a description of each grade. If any item has any writing, stickers, sticker marks, tears etc these will always be mentioned along with the grading. All records are sent in custom-made mailers, with stiffeners, and are packaged outside their sleeves to prevent edge splits.
