Description

   For sale is Marty Robbins' Gunfighter Ballads and Trail Songs, originally released in 1959 on Columbia Records. It has the red and black labels with six CBS logos around the outside, three on the left and three on the right. Because the logos look like eyes, collectors call these albums "6-Eye" Columbia records, sought after for their superior engineering and sound quality. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks are the matrix numbers 1-BC/1-K, indicating that an early stamper was used to make this first edition. I bought this records used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine, then immediately put it into a MFSL archival inner sleeve. This protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve that may have come with the release. The inner sleeve is graded as VG+ with just a small tear at the top. The cover is graded as Excellent because of some faint ring wear. The spine is Near Mint. The vinyl is visually graded as Excellent with one faint surface scratch..not very deep. I'm play grading it as Near Mint. It's been played only on Audiophile equipment since I've owned it and still has a lot of life yet. This is the best copy of this rare album that I have ever seen or heard and you would be hard pressed to find one in this condition ever again. This would make a great addition to a anyone's collection. I have more Country albums, as well as records of all different genres in my Ebay store. Please take a look. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative.
