The Currents-Night Run/Riff Raff-Laurie
Legendary soul group that had two 45 releases under the management of the wonderful Lenny LaCour. This is a dub of the master done on 2-1-68. I do not have the master and I bet it is long gone. This tape is the survivor. "Natations" is the first word written on the back of the tape box. Could there be a connection with the great soul group "The Notations" who were working in Chicago at the same time Marvell Love and his group were? Maybe some soul guru could help us with that information. On the edge of the box, it reads "Sam Brantley for copyright." I think Sam sang on a couple or at least one of the Blue Mat songs. Two of the songs have never been released "Heart to Heart" and "I'm Takin' a Chance." Fantastic find and fantastic soul group!
