Marvin Gaye – What’s Going On. 1st UK pressing vinyl LP.
Textured sleeve. Tamla Motown STML 11190. 1971
This isn’t just a 1st pressing, it’s a copy of the first variant of the first pressing.
VINYL: M-
No marks or blemishes, still retains its original sheen, and disc is nice and flat. No sticks, skips or clicks. Test play revealed full, deep sound with absolutely no trace of distortion. Hasn’t been played for decades.
Matrix / Runout groove:
A-side, stamped: STML 11190 A - 1
B-side, stamped: STML 11190 B - 1
(the first of three variants of the 1st pressing)
LABELS: M-
Perfectly clean with no writing, stickers, marks or blemishes of any kind, just a few light spindle marks.
INNER SLEEVE: EX
Original plain white inner sleeve. Bit of age discoloration (see photo).
No paper insert.
SLEEVE: EX / EX-
Original textured sleeve. Perfectly structurally sound. Writing on spine perfectly intact. Some light wear to edges and corners, a little ringwear to top half of front cover, and a small tear on back cover (see photos).
Great album, one of the first copies of it ever produced in the UK, and really hard to find in such great condition.
