Marvin Gaye - What's Going On - White Label Vinyl LP
DJ promos have garnered the reputation of being early in the pressing process. This is most certainly a genuine and true first pressing in the literal sense of the word. The catalogue number on the LP is TS-310 DJ with the regular Motown label the only difference being that it is black and white, i.e. a white label promo.
Side 1 has the matrix number A4RS-2682-2. Side 2 has the matrix number is A4RS-2684-2. There are no letters following the number "2". The "-2" indicates that this was the second mix. A "-1" was never released. It was most likely used for the Detroit mix but this was never issued. The letter "I" in the dead wax area indicates this was pressed at RCA's Indianapolis, Indiana plant, closest to Chicago. It is on a super thin dynaflex piece of vinyl which feels like you could bend it in half. The jacket sleeve is the same as the regular issue. So there it is - a true and genuine first pressing. LP: MINT- (Super Clean LP, looks amazing - comes with original "Motown Sound" inner sleeve)
