Marvin Gaye and his Girls UK Orig. LP Tammi Terrell TAMLA MOTOWN EX+ Condition

Stunning original U.K. STEREO Tamla Motown press (cover indicating 69/11) of Marvin Gaye’s ‘Marvin Gaye and his Girls’ L.P. (Tamla Motown STML 11123).  This is one of two Gaye Motown lps I have for sale this week and both are in remarkable condition.  I would go as far as saying that this copy is as good as new.  YOU WILL NOT FIND BETTER!  The laminate is very fresh, the back of the L.P. cover is white, the L.P. comes in its original inner and the vinyl is in EXCELLENT+ condition (more condition details below).  It is clear that this was played a little bit at the time and then stored.  A beautiful copy from a smoke-free home.  Tracklisting:

Condition

L.P. Cover

The flipback sleeve is in EXCELLENT+ condition.  The corners are still pretty straight (i.e. have not been knocked) and there is only very limited fraying to the L.P. opening.  There are a number of very minor faults.  There is a tiny tear in the opening on the front cover (approx. 4mm).  Not particularly obvious but it is there.  There are also a couple of light laminate creases around the opening edge.  The spine is very white and still nice and straight.  This is a really, really nice-looking copy.  The sparkle of the laminate and the whiteness of the rear of the sleeve make it look like it was purchased yesterday.  This is an easy EXCELLENT+.

Vinyl

The vinyl is housed in what I believe to be the original Motown inner (which is always a positive sign).  This inner is very flat (i.e. has not bent around the L.P.) and very white.  Again, evidently hasn’t been handled much.  The label on Side One has a small sticker attached (1cm x 1cm) and there is limited evidence of spindle wear.  The vinyl has evidently been played however, this is a stunning copy.  There are one or two superficial surface scuffs (i.e. no depth to them) and a few hairline scratches visible under an intense light.  Like the L.P. cover this easily qualifies as being in EXCELLENT+ condition.  I would really doubt that you could find better.

Concluding Remarks

A top-notch copy of this record that can questionably be bettered!  Please check my other auctions for further rare Tamla Motown items!
